Holland America in our Hemisphere At Vacation Tour & Cruise, we like Holland America Line and sell a lot of it. Holland America “winters” 6 ships in Fort Lauderdale and one in Tampa. From November to April, you can enjoy the warm sun of the Caribbean and the warm welcome of many island nations departing from Florida. In Tampa, Holland America sails 7 and 14 night voyages on the Oosterdam. 7 night sailings go to the western Caribbean and a limited number of 14 nights go to the Eastern and Southern Caribbean. Holland America Lines has been a winter resident for many years at port of Tampa as the mid size ships fit nicely under the Skyway plus our snowbirds love them. In Fort Lauderdale, each winter; Holland America runs 7, 10 and 14 night Caribbean Cruises on the Eurodam, Niew Amsterdam, Veendam and the New Pinnacle Class vessel, the Koningsdam. The Fort Lauderdale sailings go to the Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean. They also run 10 and 11 night roundtrip Panama Canal cruises from Fort Lauderdale. Holland America has some spectacular sailings to Canada and New England, Bermuda or Hawaii plus some of their interesting ships like Princendam pass through on Grand Voyages. Alaska Land/Sea Voyages In the summer Holland America Lines has a bunch of ships sailing to Alaska. In fact, they are one of the largest lines to Alaska in terms of passengers and they operate their own land tours with rail cars, busses and personnel from Grey Line of Alaska which is also a Carnvial Corp. brand. Many Holland America Lines ships depart on North or Southbound journeys from Seward (Anchorage) Alaska or Vancouver in Canada. These are 7 night voyages that can be combined with 3-7 nights land typically up to Anchorage, Denali National Park, Fairbanks or one of the Wilderness Lodges. Holland America also sails 7 night roundtrip voyages from Vancouver and Seattle. These will show you about 80% of the features of Alaska in a 7 night voyage with less expensive airfare than a north of southbound cruise. Seattle and Vancouver are beautiful in their own right so you can combine a day or two before your cruise at an affordable price. Also you can connect with British Columbia from this area if you want to see the Canadian or US Rockies by train. Worldwide Voyages to the 7 Continents Whether you are contemplating a sailing to Australia/New Zealand or the South Pacific or Asia you can select from seasonal Holland America itineraries to the most interesting ports. Every summer, Holland America Lines has ships in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe plus they sail to South America in the wintertime. Wrapped around all these international ports are ships that do Grand Voyages each year. Many of the world voyages can last over 100 days but also can be purchased as segments that typically run around 30 days for a particular region. Every fall a ship leaves Fort Lauderdale and does a Europe without airfare cruise that runs about 45 days and another roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale to South America in January. Because of the large quantity of ships that do seasonal rotations in different parts of the world, Holland America is the king of repositioning. Every time they move from region to region it provides an opportunity for a once in a lifetime one way cruise including more transatlantic and trans Panama Canal cruises than any other line. Our Tip about Holland America Lines Holland America Lines has always been the favorite of the senior citizen crowd. This can also be a great product for younger more upscale clients that are looking for quiet and relaxation while they see interesting worldwide ports. It is a higher end, quieter product with a piano bar in the evening and an interesting food and beverage program. If you want to take a sport jacket and some dress up clothes or heels for the ladies you might like this line. Also as a price point, it is more affordable than the super-premium lines with some of the same amenities in a mid size ship. The repositioning cruises sometimes visit ports only once or twice a year and many times they will start or end in Florida as so many ships winter here. Our suggestion if you are younger and think Holland America might help you tour the world, you can check it out any winter from Tampa or Fort Lauderdale including the newest ships each year which come to Miami.
