Panama Canal
Panama Canal cruises are offered in the fall,
winter and spring only. We have Panama Canal
cruises that depart and return to Fort Lauderdale
or Miami roundtrip. The roundtrip Panama
Canal cruises run either 10 or 11 days. Holland
and Princess have run these for many winters
but this year other lines also runroundtrip
Panama Canal
in the winter.
We also offer
full Panama
Canal Cruises
that usually
depart in Miami
or Fort
Lauderdale and
end in Los
Angeles or San
Diego. Most
full Panama
Canal cruises
are 14 days or more. Some run all winter, but
many are re-positioning cruises when we take
Miami/Fort Lauderdale ships to the west coast
for summer work in Alaska. These might end in
Los Angeles but many of them can go on to
Seattle or Vancouver on a one way basis. Most
of the cruise lines move ships from South
Florida to the west coast to work the summer in
Alaska and back in the fall.
Repositioning Cruises
Cruise ships move around a lot so we see more
“repositioning” cruises than you can imagine.
They come to Florida to snowbird in the fall from
Europe and Alaska but they go back again in the
spring. Transatlantics tend to have at least a
week at sea and don’t make more than 3 or 4
ports of call. You have to really like cruising as
you are in blue water as they call it.
They also follow the seasons to South America
and Australia/New Zealand. South American
sometimes depart from both the West Coast and
East Coast but the Australia New Zealand
usually depart from California and cruise through
Hawaii and Tahiti or Fiji. Cruise lines change
home ports for ships which also create
opportunities for one-time repositioning cruises.
Long Specialty Cruises
Many cruise lines like Holland, Cunard and
Princess have niche markets in world cruising.
These are sold in their entirety (usually 180
days) but more often, people buy them in
segments of 30 to 60 days. Ask us about
Europe without flying from Fort Lauderdale.
Usually once per winter we see,
Amazon/Caribbean/South America that is also
roundtrip FLL. Circumnavigation of Australia
and New Zealand or California to Hawaii, Tahiti
and Marquesas?
Hawaii
Many cruise lines can cruise to Hawaii but only
one major cruise line has an American flagged
vessel that can cruise the Islands… Norwegian.
Many of the other cruise lines offer one way and
round trip from California to fill time between
Alaska and South Florida. These are pretty
inexpensive but are a partial trans-pacific
cruises that have 3 or 4 sea days each way and
a stop in Ensenada to satisfy the Jones act on
the way home. We do handle Hawaii cruises
including airfare.

Alaska Cruises
Our travel agency books all kinds and brands of
Alaska cruises. Alaska cruises start about mid May
and run until the 3rd week of September. Many
ships run roundtrip from Seattle or Vancouver for
seven nights. Other ships run 7 day northbound
and southbound cruises between Anchorage
(Seward or Whittier) and Vancouver. Our travel
agency can put together a complete package with
airfare, airport transfers, hotels, National Park tours,
train tickets in Alaska.
Usually clients will do the roundtrip Alaska crusies
from Vancouver or Seattle unless they are adding
land packages in Alaska. Some of these trips can
be combined with a pre stay in Seattle, Vancouver
or travel through the Canadian Rockies or
California.
If you have ten nights or more for Alaska travel and
want to experience Denali National Park, Kenai
Fjords National Park, Anchorage, Seward, Talkeetna
or Fairbanks we offer 10 to 14 night packages
including a 7 night northbound or southbound
Alaska cruise. We sell all of the cruise lines
land/sea programs plus we feature custom Alaska
Railroad packages with any cruise line.
Northern Europe
In the summer, many cruise ships depart from
England, Copenhagen or Germany. These ships
sail around the British Isles and Ireland plus they go
the scandinavian countries up to St. Petersburg
Russia. These make great opportunities to put
together land/sea vacations with London, Paris,
Amsterdam, Sweden, Norway and Germany. Our
travel agency handles the cruise, your air
transportation and ground packages including train
tickets or intra-tour flights.
Mediterranean
The Mediterranean region for cruises usually gets
broken into Eastern and Western Mediterranean.
Eastern Mediterranean usually includes Greece and
Greek Isles, Italy, Turkey, Croatia and Malta.
Sometimes they are extended for a few rotations
and add the Holy Land and Egypt. Western
Mediterranean is usually Spain, France, Italy and
their islands. We sell a LOT of Mediterranean
cruises so we are familiar with the cruise ports and
land tour opportunities you can add to your cruise.
(Editor’s note: Eastern Med. cruises have ports
Turkey, Egypt and Holy Land that cruise lines may
“close” depending on ground situation at the time.
Remember
that ports
of call are
always
subject to
change to
keep you
safe.)
Asia
This is one of the newest areas for cruise shipping.
Most of the ships sail between Singapore, Japan,
Vietnam and Shanghai China. We offer Asian
cruises including land/sea vacations from the cruise
lines plus independent travel and land tours that can
be combined with these unique ports of call.
