Massimo rents apartments, hotels, villas and other accommodations in the Cefalu area. Usually his brother, Stefano zips up on a Vespa with the paperwork and your apartment keys in true Italian fashion. Check the website here for accommodations, but call Gina to book trips to Cefalu and all of Sicily. We handle airfare, advice or reservations (if possible) for train tickets and overland busses We can confirm anything shown on Cefalu.it from our offices and advise you in english about the layout of the town and surrounding areas. In fact, we can give you advice about all of Sicily. We loved Taormina also and can suggest a great guest house near the town center with a great breakfast included in the rate. We handle hotels in other areas of the island including Aggrigento, which is the closest tourism city to Santo Stefano Quisquina for our Tampa friends. You can travel to Sicily with connections on US Airlines, cheap European airlines, overnight ferries from Naples or train (usually overnight) from Central Italy. We can book moderate, deluxe or luxury escorted tours of Sicily and many cruise ships stop in Messina so you can take a daytrip to Taormina. Some clients book a week or 10 days in mainland Italy then go down to Sicily for a few days or a week, to relax, before they fly home. We are going back to Cefalu for five nights in late 2007 and plan to tour more of Sicily at that time. Living in an Sicilian town is wonderful. You go for coffee in the AM on the Duomo piazza or the beach. We frequently went to market to get fresh salad greens and antipasto for lunches and ate dinner directly on the Mediterranean many nights with fresh seafoods including tiny clams in garlic and olive oil, fresh black mussels in tomato and wine, fried fishes, baked chickens, big thin crusted pizzas and simple country cooking always accompanied by great Sicilian wine including bottles from the Agricultura store across the street that bottled in the mountains above the town. Daytime activities include the beach with a swim in the Mediterranean, hiking on La Rocca or the Parco Madonie, You can ride the bus to nearby towns and take the train to Palermo. There is a golf course near Cefalu. Always present in an Italian town is a stroll near sunset. In Cefalu, the main path takes you up from the beach past the Duomo and up to Piazza Garabaldi. Make sure you take your peak hat.
