France Vacations & Paris the City of Lights

Buy your France vacation from agents who have been there!

France is a wonderful country for travel. We have traveled there twice and can help you plan a French Vacation. Enjoy the foods, the best wines in the World and some of the best museums in Europe. The most popular trips are Paris with daytrips to Versaille, The wine country, The Alsace Region and cities on the Mediterranean Coast like Marseille but the entire country is a culinary wonderland with fresh local foods and enjoyable people.

We spent a little more than a week in Paris in 2006. We traveled in March which was cool for a Floridian, but had an advantage of no lines at the museums or attractions. Everybody had told us before arriving that the French had an attitude towards Americans which we found to be untrue. Our French language skills were limited but with a Bonjour and Pardon, je ne parle pas francais, most Parisians were able to switch to English or had someone in the establishment that spoke English to assist us. We stayed in the 7th Arrondissement overlooking the Seine and half of the Tour Eiffel. We lived like locals for a week as Gina's brother had an apartment for six months and helped us navigate the city. The 7th was delightful as it was walking distance from St. Germain and the Eiffel Tower but had a local flavor without tourists when we went home at night from sightseeing. Being a native New Yorker, the City had a feel of New York to John with the fast city pace, the multi-cultural neighborhoods and the subway where you had to figure out a route from amongst 14 subway lines. We used to figure you could take the 6 to the 11 to the 3 or you could take the 1 to the 4 and walk a little. We also took a daytrip to Reims which is the home of the Champagne Industry and home to a beautiful cathedral with a Marc Chagall stained glass window.

A night view from Bill's Apartment, notice half of the Eiffel Tower is visible, lit up and blinking in the distance. Truly the City of Lights!
