The Caribbean is a special place where time seems to stand still. Things move slower there, but that's why you go on vacation to slow down a little bit to spend time with family and friends. The Caribbean offers a very diverse vacation experience from large full service all-inclusives to small locally owned hotels and restaurants. It can be very deluxe with gourmet meals included or it can be a simple hut on the cliffs where some local guy next door grills freshly caught lobster or snapper on a fire at night. Islands can be British, American, Dutch, French or Spanish based on history, war and colonization in colonial times. The parent countries' culture stays on but the island influence makes it uniquely it's own. You can do as little as three nights in many Caribbean countries like Jamaica, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Cancun- Mexico, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, Grand Cayman and Turks & Caicos. Other islands are further away and work better with four to seven night packages. These include St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Antigua, Barbados, Curacao, Bonair, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Grenada and St. Kitts for example.
We are more familiar with the Caribbean than anywhere else we sell. The food can be creole french or just creole with most of the best dishes of chicken or seafood. Each cuisine reflects the original culture with some African influences and regional specialties based on what grows there. Soup is always good, curries, chinese, fried chicken and chips, some type of barbque and sweets are always good in the Caribbean.
The key to a Caribbean vacation because of the diverse products is to let us know exactly what type of experience you are looking for. We always say the less you spend, the more of an adventure the Caribbean is but if you are looking for adventure, you may not be happy in a programmed all-inclusive environment. If you are not sure about other cultures, then all-inclusive may be the ticket to a successful vacation because you do not have to search for food nor exchange money or deal with locals in a foreign country .
